Charlie Brown Christmas – TFSC group number

Snoopy and woodstock pond skating

A Charlie Brown Christmas is one of the most beloved holiday TV specials. Club members are invited to participate in a group number to a medley of music from this iconic show during the upcoming Christmas showcase. There will be sections dedicated to the dance and synchro classes from this fall as well as a section for other skating club members to participate.

Practice starts Saturday, November 7th. All practices are planned to take place during the 9 – 9:30 portion of club ice each week. Additional practices may be held only if deemed necessary. There will be a small charge for costumes only. All coaching and ice time is already covered for club members.

See the Announcement for more details.

Once Upon a Christmas

The holiday show will be held at the BOK Center this year! Enjoy skating in the biggest arena in town on December 19th, 3pm. The $10 ticket also gets you into the Oilers hockey game that follows.

Skaters must participate in a group number if they want to perform a solo or small ensemble number. Since there is only one show and duplicate songs are not allowed, sign up quickly to ensure desired song selection is still available. Turn in your registration form with payment at the rink. TFSC members recognized at 2015 Governing Council

Long time TFSC members Dr. Hugh Graham and Franklin Nelson were recently recognized by US Figure Skating for 50 years of service as National level judges. Both have also previously held the office of President of US Figure Skating. Additionally, Dr. Graham has been a judge at two Olympic Games. Tulsa FSC is proud of its rich contributions to the sport of figure skating and to count these two gentlemen in our membership.

Pictured: Dr. Graham giving a speech at the President’s reception, kicking off the 2015 Governing Council in Colorado Springs. The speech was brief, but encouraged other delegates to mentor the next generation of volunteers in their local communities. Current USFS President Sam Auxier waits to hand him an award.

Bringing home the hardware

TFSC congratulates member Angie Simants on her recent medal from the US Adult Figure Skating Championships, held in Salt Lake City last month. She participated in Silver Ladies I Freeskate and Silver Dramatic I. Her dramatic program, which portrayed a ballerina escaping from a music box, earned her a second place in that event.Success lies in the journey
